Three Soccer Fields in Jakarta to Use Synthetic Grass

The Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency is about to replace soccer fields' grass in three locations with synthetic grass in the near future. Those three soccer fields are Gedong (East Jakarta), Rawa Badak (North Jakarta) and Cendrawasih GOR (West Jakarta.

Synthetic grass was chosen as it has been through studies, moreover the grass is difficult to grow due to soil conditions

"Synthetic grass was chosen as it has been through studies, moreover the grass is difficult to grow due to soil conditions," expressed Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency Head, Achmad Firdaus, Monday (2/17).

Besides being more durable, it is capable of anticipating player injuries during matches and training sessions.

"The current soccer field condition will get muddy when it rains and will be dusty when summer. Of course this can interfere with athletes," he explained.

These soccer fields can later be used from morning to night, as it will be equipped with lighting and can also be used to train athletes and citizens.

"They can be used for the public. This supports the search for talent or seeds of soccer players," he stated.
